Nappies and Pants

Where can I find Rascal + Friends nappies?

Rascal + Friends nappies are exclusively available at Tescos nationwide (online and in stores).

Do your nappies use water-based inks?

Yes! The inks in our nappies are water-based. This is in line with our research and development and follows our eco guidelines. Our nappy colour has not been set by any nasty chemicals.

Do your nappies contain latex, fragrance or lotions?

Rascal + Friends nappies have no latex, fragrance or lotions and use water-based inks. We developed our nappies with babies’ sensitive skin in mind.

My baby's nappy can smell like urine when full

Rascal + Friends nappies do not use fragrance to mask the urine smell. Our nappies have a breathable backsheet to draw moisture away from delicate skin and keep your baby dry.

What are Rascal + Friends nappies made from?

The premium materials in Rascal + Friends nappies are sourced from around the world and the same as in all nappies worldwide. They are predominately made of: fluff pulp, super absorbent material (SAP), polypropylene nonwoven fabrics, polyethylene film, together with some fastening and elastic materials. All materials undergo a stringent product safety assessment and are manufactured under strict guidelines.

Are Rascal + Friends nappies made in New Zealand?

Rascal + Friends is 100% NZ owned and designed. We sourced our premium raw materials from around the world and assemble them in China. We do this so our product is affordable to families and we can take advantage of technology growth and innovations.

What is your 3D Core?

Rascal + Friends have taken advantage of a new innovation. Our 3D Core increases the absorbency area, creating absorbency channels down the side of the core to help prevent sneaky leaks. You can find these next to the Double leak guards. Check them out by lifting the 3D Core up.

Our absorbency channels don't feature in Newborn nappies. This is because of the small volume of liquid produced by younger babies

Do you use super-absorbents in your products?

All disposable nappies use a type of super-absorbent, and our Rascal + Friends nappies use sodium polyacrylate (SAP) to draw out the moisture away from the baby and into the nappy.

Do you have sample packs

We are currently working on our samples program

Why has my baby's nappy started to leak at night?

The weight range on each of our packs is a guide only and quite often moving to the next size up will stop the leakage issues. The factors that can sometimes lead to leakage are the many movements your baby makes everyday, the nature of your baby's bowel and bladder habits and the size of the nappy your baby is wearing. That said we know every baby is different, so the occasional leakage problem can occur.

I'm finding the tabs short or too tight

Our tabs are designed to fasten closer to the hips compared to other leading brands. This is a new innovation and follows global trends. Especially for newborns this means less pressure on their precious belly button.

Why do Rascal + Friends not have boys and girls nappies?

Rascal + Friends follows global trends of unisex nappies. Our nappies are carefully designed with new innovations to absorb moisture and provide maximum comfort in unisex design.

Do you sell nappy pants?

Nappy pants are available at selected Tesco stores!

The size guide on the pack doesn't suit my baby

Our nappies are available in a range of sizes to suit every stage of development. Every Rascal + Friends nappy pack features a weight range to help parents select the most appropriate nappy for their baby. The weight chart is designed as a guide only with fit and comfort differing from baby to baby. This range is used as there is so much variation in baby's shape and build.

My baby is a tummy sleeper

Tummy sleepers are tricky and most babies will go through this stage of tummy sleeping. Try moving to the next size up so the nappy sits higher. Another trick is putting the nappy on back to front at night.

Are your disposable nappies sustainable?

We use sustainable pulp in our nappies!

Are your nappies cruelty free and vegan?

Yes, our nappies are cruelty free and vegan! We are proudly certified by PETA.

Do Rascal + Friends contain Glyphosate?

No! We have no Glyphosate in our nappies. In fact, we are the first nappy in the world to be BioChecked Non Glyphosate certified!

Are your nappies dermatologically tested?

Yes! Our nappies are proudly certified by Dermatest.

What is the gel inside the nappy?

Most disposable nappies contain a super-absorbent material (SAP) mixed with the fluff pulp in the nappy core. The SAP absorbs liquid and turns into a gel significantly improving nappy absorbency. SAP materials are safe, non-toxic, non-mutagenic, non-irritating and used throughout the sanitary industry.

I've found some gel on my baby's skin

On occasions a small amount of gel (SAP) can come out of the nappy core and onto your baby's skin. It can be removed with a baby wipe or damp washcloth.

I've noticed R+F packaging has changed recently, why is this?

While we have changed our packaging design, we can assure you that our nappies are still the same! After some research we found that parents were more concerned with performance and function, so we changed our packaging to reflect this. We still continue to have no nasties in our products!

Do your nappies contain Formaldehyde?

Rascal + Friends nappies and Pants contain no formaldehyde or other nasty chemicals such as fragrances, chlorine or latex*. We only use water-based inks and our product is dermatologically tested to be safe for sensitive skin.

We have recently changed our packaging to focus more on the premium performance features of the product, but the no nasties composition of the nappy and pants has remained exactly the same.

What is the EWG rating for your wipes?

Our wipes have an average EWG rating of 1.20 and a total score of 12. Check out our ingredient list here for more information.

My sensitive wipes feel a bit dry at the top of the pack.

Due to our 'no nasties' approach, R+F's wipes don't contain the chemicals which would usually "bind" liquid to the wipes. This can cause the liquid to sometimes migrate to the bottom of the pack. To fix this, with the lid closed, turn your wipes pack upside down and gently squeeze and massage it for a few seconds. This will quickly redistribute the liquid more evenly throughout the pack, and get the wipes back to their usual ready-for-action selves.
